Well, once again it's ended up being a few months since I've gotten around to writing a blog again. Maybe this time around we'll be more consistent...We had a good summer holiday back in Canada but we're excited to be starting another year here in Hong Kong. Over the summer we found out we need to move again but fortunately we've found a place we like so we're moving at the end of October. Our new place is at the Gold Coast on the other side of Hong Kong and it's a little bit further from school.  It's really nice out there and it is next to a beach and there are good biking trails nearby so we can still do all the things we do now. It's also close to Disneyland. We've bought season passes so we'll be spending a lot of time with Mickey and Goofy.
Jill is not working at the school this year so we decided to not have a helper work for us any more. We are really enjoying having our house to ourselves again. Jill has been doing a little bit of freelance personal training in the evenings and she is enjoying that much more than teaching. We also bought a car and have found that we are able to do so much more now as a family because it we don't need to ride the bus for an hour to get somewhere that takes 15 minutes to drive.  We bought a 1997 Audi A4 and we love it! Used cars are ridiculously cheap here. Driving on the left side of the road has been easy to adjust to but figuring out how to get places has been a little tricky.
On November 7th Jill and I and two other teachers are entered in the Oxfam Trailwalker. It's a 100km race through the mountains of Hong Kong.  We have to complete it together as a team of 4 so we've been doing some training to get ready. Last weekend we did the 2 hardest sections of the course in 6.5 hours. The course has 10 sections so it will probably take us around 30 hours to finish the actual race.  The hike last weekend was really fun because we went at night. It's really peaceful and beautiful up on the mountains at night. The point of the race is to raise money for oxfam so we need to raise quite a bit of money as one of the conditions of entering the race. If anyone wants to donate some money that would be awesome!
School has been going really well so far this year. It's nice to already know all the kids and to teach the same subject over again.
