Happy New Year to all! So now with the Christmas season done and my family gone, Hunter and I are making the adjustment once again to just the two of us. He is adjusting to not having eyes constantly gawking at him and I am adjusting to 12 hours of baby talk and the mind numbingness of having nobody to talk to again.

Our Christmas went well, my first turkey ever was pretty good, and it wasn't as lonely as I thought it would be but Ryan and I made a good effort to make it that way, it was nice to have Ryan around for the 2 weeks and he and Hunter got to be great pals. Poor Dad gets home from work and it's constant feeding, bathing and bed time. Hunter has started going to bed earlier (usually between 6 and 7) not wonderful though since he is waking around 6 a.m. too...and not sleeping through the night yet. Who knows with that kid though because his routine changes every week. He is still as active as ever before, doesn't hit his head as much trying to push his limits which is nice...for awhile Ryan and I considered getting him a helmet to avoid brain damage. Other than that not much is new with him...he's the same old show-off who makes kissy faces to the Chinese ladies who make them at him, then turns to kiss me, then looks back at them with a big grin to recieve his applause as if to say, "Did you like that one?" He really is a show-off and loves thinking he's the center of the Chinese world, but who can blame him the way they carry on about him and nobody believes it till they see it, my family were shocked at how much attention he gets. This summer he is going to go into shock when he's just another blue-eyed white baby!

It was so so wonderful having my family here for two weeks. The first week they stayed at the neighbours flat who were in Canada for the Holidays but the second week they were squished into our 500 and a bit square foot apartment, we just thought of it as camping though...Dad and Mitch even provided some animal noises at night just to really make it feel outdoorsy! We did quite a few activities, went shopping in Shenzen where Mitch and Ryan got suits tailor made, went to an amusement park, did more shopping, ate, went to Cheung Chau Island, and just hung out, watched Friends (my brother thoughtfully brought me the 10 seasons of Friends) and played Kaiser and other games. Ryan had company to frequent the markets with (I'm not a huge market fan) and I had people around!!!

Now it's back to the usual stuff, which I guess is okay. In the New Year my basketball team is undefeated, which has been good. I experienced my first ABSOLUTELY FRUSTERATING GAME where I wanted to run onto the court punch the refs in the face and kick the other coach in the junk...but I just shook hands and said good game! It was a close game and the other team was fouling our guys to put them on the line but then sending a player into the high blocks to rebound, through the shooter's circle right when our player was about to shoot...apparently the refs tell me here in Hong Kong that that's permitted in FIBA rules!!! Anyways... we won so i will just leave it at that, for now. Plus Hunter's here now to help me type so i best be going, he's not a big help. But since I can't come up with a title I'll let him come up with one!
